Several major streets in Georgetown, Penang were hit by sudden floods after 6 hours of continuous heavy rain since 7.00 pm 19th October, 2013. Affected areas are Jalan Sungai Pinang, Jalan P. Ramlee, Jalan Patani, Jalan Anson and Kampung Makam.
More than 300 families are affected by this flood and this occurrence also caused hundreds of vehicles stuck in the terrible traffic for almost 3 hours. On the most serious affected floods area, the flood water level rose up to nearly one meter depth. There was no injury and death report received from this incident so far.
